Our merch journey began with alumni working in small groups under the guidance of freelance designer Adia. Each group brought their own style and story to the table — the shirt team was no exception.

Inarah, Thinesh and Sharifah started by sketching out very different ideas. Thinesh leaned into streetwear, imagining acid-wash fabrics and reflective lettering inspired by Off-White. Inarah and Sharifah loved experimenting with bright colours, especially Kita’s brand palette.

Their first drafts looked like rainbows, but to keep things practical (and affordable!) they cut it down to just five colours. The final shirt blends boldness and joy — a perfect reflection of theirs and Kita’s combined visions.
